Ladies Mantle Herb 50g

The Lady's Mantle has astringent and styptic properties, on account of the tannin it contains. It has a very drying and binding character, and was formerly considered one of the best vulneraries or wound herbs. This herb earned the nickname to being a woman's best friend. Drinking infusions is said to relieve menstrual cramps and menopause. This also helps reduce pain and heavy bleeding. Lady's Mantle may also be used as a compress then applied to healing wounds and to reduce inflammation, helps combat liver and kidney disorders. The green parts of the plant only may be used as a mouth rinse to aid the healing of tooth extractions. Use. Infusions and decoctions of Lady's Mantle are used for dyspepsia, diarrhea, obesity, diabetes, skin illnesses, as an expectorant for respiratory tract disorders, tuberculosis and anemia. The infusion of the herb is used topically as a douche and compress for inflamed eyes and nose, for acne, for purulent wounds, wet eczemas, and as a gargle for mouth inflammations. A strong decoction is recommended as excellent to stop all bleedings, and the root dried and reduced to powder is considered to answer the same purpose and to be good for violent purgings. In Sweden, a tincture of the leaves has been given in cases of spasmodic or convulsive diseases, and an old authority states that if placed under the pillow at night, the herb will promote quiet sleep.
